Sweet Peach: homemade recipe

Ingredients

2 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp unsalted butter

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and water. Stir well.
3. Cook the mixture over medium heat until the peaches release their juices and the sugars dissolve, about 5-7 minutes.
4. Stir in the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well.
5. In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in a tablespoon of cold water, then add it to the peach mixture. Stir to combine.
6. Continue cooking until the mixture thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
7. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the unsalted butter until it’s fully melted.
8. Pour the peach mixture into a baking dish.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
10. Allow the Sweet Peach dessert to cool slightly before serving.
