Salmon Mousse: homemade recipe

Ingredients

1 can of salmon (approximately 14.75 oz)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
1 tbsp unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1/2 cup boiling water
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper

Directions

1. Drain the can of salmon, remove any skin and bones, and flake the salmon with a fork.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, finely chopped onion, salt, black pepper, fresh dill, finely chopped celery, and finely chopped green bell pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
3. In a small bowl, sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the 1/4 cup of cold water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to soften.
4. Add the 1/2 cup of boiling water to the gelatin mixture, stirring continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
5. Pour the dissolved gelatin mixture into the salmon mixture, stirring well to ensure even distribution.
6. Transfer the mixture to a serving dish or mold, smoothing the top with a spatula.
7. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until the mousse is firm.
8. Once set, remove from the refrigerator, unmold if desired, and serve.
