Ingredients
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the orange juice, soy sauce, and brown sugar.
2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir the mixture until the sugar is fully dissolved.
3. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Set aside.
4. Add the white vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil to the saucepan. Stir everything together.
5. If you wish to add a little heat, stir in the red pepper flakes.
6. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
7. Once simmering, slowly add the cornstarch mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
8. Continue to cook the sauce until it has thickened to your desired consistency, which should take about 2-3 minutes.
9. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving with meat, chicken, salmon, or duck.
