Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 slices pepper jack cheese
4 burger buns
1 avocado, sliced
1/2 cup salsa
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1/2 cup sliced jalapeños
1/4 cup sour cream
Directions
1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 lb ground beef, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Mix well until the spices are evenly incorporated.
2. Divide the seasoned beef into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
4. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty. Allow the cheese to melt.
5. While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are golden brown.
6. Assemble the burgers: Place a patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a few slices of avocado, a spoonful of salsa, some fresh cilantro, and a few slices of jalapeños.
7. Spread 1 tbsp of sour cream on the inside of each top bun, then place the top bun on each burger.
8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
