Ingredients
2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 tbsp lemon juice
Directions
1. Place the sliced strawberries in a medium saucepan.
2. Add the granulated sugar and water to the saucepan with the strawberries.
3. Stir the mixture gently to combine all the ingredients.
4. Heat the saucepan over medium heat, bringing the mixture to a boil.
5. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
6. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and to help the strawberries break down.
7. After 15 minutes, remove the saucepan from heat and add the lemon juice.
8. Let the mixture cool slightly.
9. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to remove the solids.
10. Press the solids gently with a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible.
11. Pour the strained syrup into a clean jar or bottle.
12. Let the syrup cool completely before sealing and storing in the refrigerator.
