homemade orange sorbet: homemade recipe

Ingredients

1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 tbsp orange zest
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp lemon juice

Directions

1. Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat.
2. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, creating a simple syrup.
3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
4. In a bowl, mix the freshly squeezed orange juice, lemon juice, and orange zest.
5. Once the simple syrup is cool, add it to the orange mixture and stir well.
6. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
7. After about an hour, take the dish out and stir the mixture with a fork to break up any ice crystals.
8. Repeat this stirring process every 30 minutes for about 3-4 hours, until the sorbet is fully frozen and has a smooth texture.
9. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to serve.
