Ingredients
3 cups peeled, cored, and chopped apples
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup water
Directions
1. Place the chopped apples in a medium-sized saucepan.
2. Add the granulated sugar to the saucepan.
3. Pour in the lemon juice.
4. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the apples.
5. Add the water to the mixture.
6. Stir everything together to combine.
7. Set the saucepan over medium heat.
8. Cook the mixture, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes or until the apples are soft.
9. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
10. Let the compote cool slightly before serving.
