Ingredients
Chicken breasts: 4
Salt: 1 tsp
Black pepper: 1/2 tsp
Olive oil: 2 tbsp
Butter: 1/4 cup (half a stick)
Garlic cloves, minced: 4
Chicken broth: 1/2 cup
Lemon juice: 1 tbsp
Fresh parsley, chopped: 2 tbsp
Optional: Red pepper flakes: 1/4 tsp
Directions
1. Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and black pepper.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
3. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Allow it to melt completely.
5. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
6. Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
7. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon some of the sauce over the chicken, and cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
8. Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley (and red pepper flakes if using) over the chicken.
9. Serve immediately with the garlic butter sauce spooned over the top.
