Ingredients
Flour: 2 cups
Sugar: 1 1/2 cups
Butter: 1 cup (at room temperature)
Eggs: 4 large
Baking powder: 2 tsps
Milk: 1/2 cup
Vanilla extract: 2 tsps
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Grease and flour your baking pan to prevent sticking.
3. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Set aside.
4. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until creamy and fluffy.
5. Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, beating well after each addition.
6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
7. Gradually add the flour mixture to the batter, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing until just combined after each addition.
8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
