Blackberry Butter: homemade recipe

Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1/4 cup fresh blackberries
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp lemon zest

Directions

1. Add the unsalted butter to a mixing bowl. Ensure it’s at room temperature so it’s easier to work with.
2. Mash the fresh blackberries in a separate bowl using a fork. You want to break them down but still retain some texture.
3. Gradually add the mashed blackberries to the butter, gently folding them in with a spatula or spoon until well combined.
4. Pour the honey into the mixture, continuing to fold until the honey is fully incorporated.
5. Grate the lemon zest into the bowl, mixing it in evenly to add a fresh, zesty flavor.
6. Once all the ingredients are thoroughly combined, transfer the Blackberry Butter to a serving dish or a container.
7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the butter to firm up.
8. Serve the Blackberry Butter spread on toast, scones, or as a delicious addition to your favorite baked goods.
