bbq pork ribs in oven: homemade recipe

Ingredients

2 racks of pork ribs (about 4-5 lb total)
1 cup BBQ sauce
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chicken broth (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.
3. In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cumin, mustard powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).
4. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
5. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
6. In a separate bowl, mix the apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, and olive oil.
7. Pour the vinegar mixture over the ribs, making sure they are well-coated.
8. Cover the ribs tightly with aluminum foil.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
10. Remove the foil from the ribs and brush them with BBQ sauce.
11. Optional step: Add chicken broth to the baking sheet to keep the ribs moist.
12. Increase the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes, basting with more BBQ sauce halfway through.
13. Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving.
