Baked Asparagus: homemade recipe

Ingredients

1 lb asparagus
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Wash the asparagus thoroughly under cold water and pat them dry with a clean towel.
3. Trim the tough ends of the asparagus by snapping them off or cutting them with a knife.
4. Place the asparagus on a baking sheet in a single layer.
5. Drizzle the olive oil over the asparagus, ensuring they are evenly coated.
6. Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the asparagus.
7. Toss the asparagus gently with your hands or tongs to distribute the seasonings and oil evenly.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and slightly crispy.
9. If you’re using the grated Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it over the asparagus during the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
10. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
